Each week, mainly music begins with a 30-minute music and movement session where parents and children interact together. It involves action songs, finger plays, rhymes, counting songs and slower songs to facilitate connection between a child and their parent or caregiver. We use musical props to encourage movement and provide many opportunities to develop children’s language, literacy and numeracy skills. Each session includes songs that encourage us to think about the God-part of life.
Children’s morning tea is provided, followed by eat / play / chat time where adults have morning tea and have a time to chat, while the children enjoy some social time together. We also celebrate birthdays and special occasions, and delight in the everyday moments of parenting young children.
Mainly music operates on Thursdays during school terms 10-11:15am at a cost of $5 per family. It is suited to families with children aged 0-5 years old.
